It would be bold of us to assume that Bytes & Bites is the only coding community in the VU, but we have so that’s that.
No, there are other great coding communities and courses right here in our university including, but not limited to:
- low volume coding, a chill coding session every two weeks on a Thursday afternoon where programmers of all levels and backgrounds are welcome to turn up with questions and problems or just to have a space to work on your project.
- hack4her as you can probably guess is female orientated hackathon event, or in their own words “Hack4Her is the only annual female-focused student hackathon in the Netherlands”.
- VULTURE the university wide coding community for programmers of all levels in all roles to learn about events, share tools, articles, problems, ideas, and of course solutions.
- Software and Sustainability
- SPINlab the Spatial Information Laboratory is the centre for research and education in Geo-Information Science at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
- VUSec is the Systems and Network Security Group at the VU and is part of the computer science department.
